Yorkshire mobility group gets set for disability tech expo

Harrogate plays host to Disability Action Yorkshire’s assistive technology exhibition next week, which will see local companies showcasing their latest products.

Displays from around 20 organisations and businesses will showcase their services and products for disabled people, with a particular focus on assistive technology.

The companies include Tunstall, Possum, Yorkshire Care Equipment, Change Mobility and Knaresborough-based GSPK Design, which will be showing its Emego, prior to its commercial launch in September.

“We are absolutely delighted with the quality of businesses and organisations attending our maket place event,” Disability Action Yorkshire chief executive, Jackie Snape, told the Horrogate Advertister.

“This exhibition is a fantastic opportunity for disabled people to speak to industry experts, and to see the products and innovations that are improving the lives of disabled people and giving them more independence.

“One of the key areas we are currently exploring as a charity is assistive technology, and its superb that some key organisations from within this field will be with us on the day. Our market place event is bringing together businesses and numerous public and private sector organisations, whose united goal is to enable disabled people to live their day to day lives independently.”
