Woman arrested on suspicion of mobility scooter drink driving

A woman has been arrested for allegedly driving a mobility scooter while under the influence of drink or drugs.

Out on the scooter in York, she was also arrested for failing to comply with coronavirus lockdown restrictions.

The arresting officer, PC Will Leah, took to social media to explain the event.

He said: “Last night I attended reports of a drunk female driving a mobility scooter in York.

“I arrested a female on suspicion of Sec 4 RTA Drink/Drug drive, possession of cannabis + failing to comply with the Coronavirus Act 2020. She blew 106 in custody and this morning has been charged.”
