wheelAIR engages end-users as it reflects on achievements three years after launch

wheelair third birthday

WheelAIR, a Scottish start-up firm that launched three years ago today, is marking its third year in the mobility market with a social media campaign aimed at getting users involved in its celebrations.

The company, founded by entrepreneur Corien Staels, sells a special cooling wheelchair cushion designed to combat overheating and keep active and general users alike more comfortable in their day-to-day lives.

The solution uses inbuilt fan technology which cools the user’s back and reduces core temperature by taking away excess heat and moisture.

The Glaswegian outfit said that to celebrate its birthday it is taking a look back at its “coolest milestone and achievements so far”.

It is inviting end-users to join it on various social media platforms and share a photo or message of what they are most proud of doing with the hashtag #coolaccomplishments.

A post said: “Whether it’s finishing rehab after an injury, learning a new hobby or remembering to water that plant regularly – whatever has made you proud, we want to hear about it!

“Don’t forget to tag us in your post. Find us online using the links below & use the hashtag #coolaccomplishments.”

The firm largely sells direct to end-users online but also targets retail partners in the UK and around the globe. It quickly attracted attention in the mobility sector early on after securing multiple rounds of funding and even making a successful appearance on BBC TV show Dragons’ Den.
