Webinar to explore discharge to access process using single-handed care approach

A new webinar will explore the potential impact of using a single-handed care approach to discharging hospital patients during the pandemic.

Deborah Harrison, managing director of A1 Risk Solutions, will present the webinar in collaboration with Direct Healthcare Group’s Ethos webcast series on Friday (January 8) from 12-1pm.

The webinar will explore changes to the hospital discharge process due to Covid-19, and since 2019, whether these changes are realistic or not.

The event follows a study by Health Watch and British Red Cross, which found that rushed hospital discharges during the coronavirus pandemic have led to unmet care needs and a lack of support for patients returning home.

It revealed that 82% of the survey respondents did not receive a follow-up visit and assessment from a healthcare professional post discharge.

A quarter (25%) of those who reported having outstanding support needs lived alone, and 74% of those still needing support were aged between 50-80+ years old.

Direct Healthcare Group launched the online Ethos webcast resource in November to provide interactive and educational content for clinicians and healthcare providers.
