Ki Mobility, based in Wisconsin in the US, will begin to manage its own sales and support service in the UK from January 1.
James Leckey Design of Northern Ireland were in charge previously, and will remain to do so until the hand over date.
Commenting on the move, Ki Mobility president, Doug Munsey said: “We are appreciative of all the work the team at James Leckey Design has done over the past several years. They’re a wonderful company and continue to be good friends and partners of ours.”
Leckey chairman, James Leckey, added: “It has been a privilege to distribute Ki Mobility products in the UK. This transition will enable Leckey to focus on the sizable opportunities within our core pediatric segments. Ki Mobility remains a valued partner with immense knowledge and expertise in mobility products and we are fully committed to working with them to ensure continuity of services for customers.”
As part of the change, Ki Mobility will hire a UK sales team and UK-based customer service representative to support their customers in the area.
The firm currently has offices in both the US and Canada meaning this will be the first time the company has employees based outside of North America.
Munsey added: “For Ki Mobility, our focus is always on making sure our people and products remain accessible and available. We’re looking forward to providing the same great customer service, training and service tools to our UK dealers and clinicians as we provide to those in the US and Canada.”
Last month, AMP reported on Rollz going it alone in the UK mobility market.
