Recently appointed logistics coordinator for Lincolnshire-based Obam Stairlifts has said he was “surprised but very flattered” on being nominated for the upcoming AMP Awards.
Simon Wright was nominated in the Unsung Industry Hero of the Year category in the AMP Awards, which celebrate excellence in mobility retail and will take place on Sunday 7 October in Birmingham on the first evening of Trade Days.
Wright joined Obam in April and has helped the firm build on what has been a highly successful year, which has seen it expand its premises and launch a new digital face.
He took up the newly established role shortly after relocating to Lincolnshire from Kent and has eight years of experience in planning and logistics.
Simon has been “vital” to Obam Stairlifts’ business development, helping the company to adopt a more strategic approach to its planning, said the company.
In his new role he has been looking at where the company can make the best use of its engineers’ time, while still delivering a high standard of care to its customers.
He said: “I have to admit I was quite surprised, but very flattered, to find out that I had been put forward for an award.
“It was a hard decision to uproot from Kent and move to Lincoln, but I am confident it was the right one.
“I’m pleased I am making a good impression at Obam by improving the company while helping to make our customers’ lives better. Fingers crossed for the awards ceremony.”
The AMP Awards will celebrate the achievements of retailers and dealers in the UK mobility industry and is the first time that dedicated awards of this kind have been held.
The event is free to all UK dealers. Industry members can cast their vote for the Awards HERE.
