Dartex Coatings, which manufacturers coated fabrics for suppliers of specialist care seating, has been brought into the fold of Swedish group, Trelleborg Coated Systems.
The bolt-on acquisition, which was consolidated as of yesterday, is part of Trelleborg’s ongoing strategy to bolster its offering and strengthen its place in the market.
Dartex specialises in manufacturing coated fabrics and in particular products for pressure injury prevention.
Dartex is based in Long Eaton where it has an office and a production facility. It has another production facility in Rhode Island in the US, and it has an annual turnover of around £12m.
“I am very pleased with this acquisition that complements our product range and strengthens our position in healthcare and medical, which is a growing industry for us,” said Dario Porta, president of the Trelleborg’s business division.
“We will be capable of offering our customers even more engineered solutions and, not least, a greater geographic reach. I am impressed by the company’s high-quality products and its level of innovation, as well as the close relationships it has with its customers.”
