Stairlift and accessibility equipment supplier Handicare has announced a trio of significant staff appointments in a bid to expand its global reach.

David Harrison takes the role of global customer experience director; Helen Kitchen becomes global brand, communications and PR director; while Emma McAuley joins as global HR director.

With four manufacturing sites and eight offices worldwide, including two in the UK, Handicare is looking grow from what is already a strong position.

David Harrison previously spent 16 years with Handicare UK’s sales division and returned to the company earlier this year. His new global remit will focus on customer experience across the board.

Having worked as a PR consultant for Handicare since 2016, Helen Kitchen’s appointment follows a decision to de-centralise and outsource the marketing function. She will manage a team of country marketeers and coordinate partnerships with creative and digital agencies to boost Handicare’s international brand strategy.

Emma McAuley has over 20 years of HR experience under her belt, so was seen as a natural choice to head Handicare’s global HR operation.

The company’s vice president Clare Brophy was understandably excited about the recruits: “It’s thanks to our world-class products and services that we’ve grown to become market leader in our industry sector. I’m thrilled about the potential of these appointments to open up new avenues of growth, both for Handicare and for our trade partners around the world.”
