Leading disability campaigner and TGA WHILL Ambassador Dr Barham-Brown is set to talk self-advocacy at Naidex this year.
Barham-Brown, GP, will present a seminar at Naidex 2020 focused on advocating change within health services, education and employment for disabled people.
Held on March 18 at the NEC, as part of the talk synopsis, Barham-Brown explains how people with disabilities have a huge amount to offer, but sometimes it can seem that the rest of the world is taking a while to realise.
She hopes attendees will go away knowing more about using social media for self-advocacy, collaboration with other disabled people and ‘activism’, accessing support mechanisms at universities, in the workplace, Trade Unions and Patient Advice and Liaison Services.
She also outlined the importance of working with local politicians to bring about change, getting the most out of health appointments and working with other disabled people to drive improvement.
In addition to her seminar Hannah will be available on the TGA stand during day two of Naidex so visitors can learn from her experiences as a leading disabled influencer.
