Staels Design has officially launched its Kickstarter crowdfunding campaign which is looking for £30,000 so that its new product can be commercially produced.
The company will also be hosting an official launch event for its cooling wheelchair cushion on Saturday in Glasgow.
Housing Options Scotland, Simply Emma and the Michael Kerr Foundation are partnering with the firm for its event.
Music, mingling, light refreshments and a welcome speech from founder, Corien Staels will form part of the event in addition to an opportunity to test the new product.
The WheelAir was developed by Staels Design, a firm founded just over a year ago by Corien Staels, a recent MSc graduate at the University of Glasgow.
Staels’ solution, the WheelAir, is a battery powered, ergonomically designed cushion that cools the back of the user by gently blowing air onto their backs.
