Tamworth-based Simple Stuff Works has recently dispatched a donation of equipment to a community centre in Tirana, Albania.
The centre provides health and welfare services to disadvantaged families and is run by Tek Ura, an Albanian NGO founded by UK professionals and run by UK and Albanian nationals.
The donation consisted of several boxes of mixed sleep system products, ranging from soft wedges and bed sheets to stabilisers and side lyers. The equipment will be used by the school’s physiotherapy team to help children with poor body posture which is caused through a variety of issues.
The NGO centre in Tirana works in partnership with other local organisations to encourage and enable human transformation, social inclusion and justice across Albania.
“We are always looking to support worthwhile charitable organisations in the UK and overseas. The school is situated in a deprived area of Tirana, so when we received the call from Annie and Dan who work with the NGO, asking if we had any products we could donate we were only too happy to help them and support the wonderful work they do” commented Anna Waugh, managing director of Simple Stuff Works.
Annie Dupree, a physiotherapist from the UK who works with Tek Ura is seeing the benefits of the donation first hand as she explained: “This donation from Simple Stuff Works is hugely beneficial to children with a wide range of complex disabilities and associated movements, helping them to maintain postural alignment, and above all, it will provide them with better sleep and less complications in the future”.
