A mobility scooter user had to be rescued after he lost control of his equipment and fell down steps on the seafront in Blackpool.
Coastguard rescuers were called out on Tuesday evening and found the user lying on steps and his scooter partially submerged in water and sand after half an hour of searching.
Paramedics joined rescuers and took the man to hospital, who was reported to be in a serious condition.
The man, who is in his 50s, is not thought to have life-threatening injuries but was reported to be in a state of distress.
