Roma Medical has launched a new enhanced version of its Reno II powerchair which is designed to build on the style and outdoor and indoor capabilities of its predecessor.
The Reno Elite was conceived and prototyped at Roma’s facility in South Wales and is designed to offer “unparalleled safety” in a package that is easy-to-use and maintain with a 21 stone maximum user weight.
It is one of the first developments to come out of Roma in 2019 and it said it will endeavour to add even more models to the Reno range this year.
The Elite is fitted with a number of unique safety features. The positioning of the motors makes servicing easier with access to the magnetic brakes requiring no disassembly of the chair.
There is no exposed wiring and the Reno Elite was taken to the Millbrook facility in Bedfordshire to be crash tested. The developers said it passed “with flying colours”.
Roma’s design engineers have included a host of upgrades within the standard specification at no extra cost.
These include larger front castors, larger rear wheels complete with wheel guards, larger motors (from 200 to 250 watt output) and upgraded Shark Dynamic Controller.
It also has the option of a luxury adjustable captain seat or standard seat version that comes complete with height adjustment via a new quick-release pin and lever release angle adjustment.
With these developments in place, the Reno Elite is designed to offer the end-user even better outdoor performance while retaining its manoeuvrability due to its tight turning circle when used indoors.
The Elite has now been placed onto the Motability Scheme and is available to order in either flame red or blue.
