Rober, a specialist in pressure-relieving furniture, has introduced a new automatic mattress aimed at minimising the risk of developing ulcers.
The Airstream THP is designed specifically to avoid pressure ulcers on the heel and lower limbs and is the latest mattress in the firm’s product range.
The mattress uses high speed solenoid technology to provide the rapid changes in airflow required to stimulate reactive hyperaemia in the deep tissues surrounding bony prominences.
It contains an independent heel zone that prevents pressure ulcers from occurring at this site and helps existing pressure injuries to heal.
Additional features such as a touch screen display panel, comfort settings, timed static mode, audible and visual alarms, and permanently inflated side formers are designed to further benefit patients.
In close collaboration with clinicians, Rober has focused on delivering in four key areas – microclimate control, patient safety and comfort, infection control and nursing support.
