Equipment retailer RKS Ltd has completed a merger with Manchester Mobility.
RKS’ co-founders Bev Kelly and Ailsa Reston said the acquisition will enhance the business in the rehabilitation, wheelchair and mobility market.
Manchester Mobility was owned by Dave Gaucas, who began working in the mobility industry more than 45-years ago and who based the business on a bespoke and individual service for clients.
The business will continue to be run with an emphasis on a tailored approach to equipment provision, according to its new owners.
Over the next few months Gaucas will be working with RKS Ltd to make the transition “smooth and seamless for all customers”.
A statement from RKS said: “The merger will reinforce the existing expertise within both businesses. This is a thrilling prospect for all involved.”
Manchester Mobility’s customers will be supported by the therapy, engineering and administrative team at RKS Ltd’s base, in Cheshire Oaks Trade Park.
RKS Ltd will take on responsibility for all servicing, warranty and reassessment needs for existing and new customers of Manchester Mobility. All parts, warranties and new products for Manchester Mobility will now be purchased from suppliers by RKS Ltd.
RKS Ltd has won numerous awards over the years for excellence in customer service and support, including Dealer of the Year (North) in the 2018 AMP Awards.
RKS is the only company nationally to have won a Motability customer service award for the last three consecutive years.
