Recare’s HQ in Oxfordshire will be the site for a new specialist seating clinic the retailer is setting up jointly with major mobility manufacturer Ottobock.

The two firms already work alongside each other at industry shows but are now collaborating on a new specialist custom contoured seating service, which is expected to open at the end of the summer at Recare’s main showroom in Long Hanborough.

The Southern Private Seating Clinic will see Ottobock target more case managers, solicitors, OTs and end-users with its seating systems.

The new service will also enable Recare to offer its customers more specialised treatment.

Recare expanded its business premises recently so it could house a new service and repair centre for the ReWalk exoskeletal rehabilitation suit. The new seating clinic will also be housed here.

Richard Holland-Oakes, managing director of Recare, said he was pleased to be developing the dealer’s relationship with Ottobock even further.

He said: “The clinic provides a wonderful opportunity for us to offer current and future customers with a complete service for all their needs.

“The current market is very competitive and being able to invest in all different sectors gives us the biggest potential for success going forward.”

David Barton, commercial manager at Ottobock’s special seating production unit, said: “Ottobock has been providing high quality custom contoured seating for more than 25 years and we are delighted to be working with Recare on this exciting new clinic. As a high-quality service provider, they are ideal partners for this venture.”
