Prism Medical has completed the acquisition of a Scotland-based mobility supplier specialising in the installation, servicing and repair of patient lifting and bathing equipment.
Prism’s purchase of Assured Healthcare Ltd, which has its base in Stirling, sees the moving, handling and bathing specialist expand its reach.
Assured Healthcare has been operating in the healthcare sector for more than 20 years. It works with the health service, local councils and care homes.
The firm works with many of the main manufacturers and sells wheelchairs and mobility scooters.
Prism said that the acquisition increases its service offering in the UK and brings “expert knowledge and skills” to Assured’s existing customer base as well as offering a value proposition to new customers.
Prism Medical operates from eight UK locations, employing around 450 staff delivering a portfolio of 180 products.
At the end of 2018 it was acquired from former owner LDC by Limerston Capital. Prism’s takeover of Assured Healthcare is its first acquisition since its own buyout.
When Limerston bought the company, Prism’s CEO Stuart Meldrum outlined an intention to expand its geographic coverage in the UK.
