Every once in a while, a mobility retail outlet needs to overhaul its image to stay fresh and the extent to which this is carried out tends to depend on budget and resources.
But for Simon Sverdloff, store manager at Lifestyle & Mobility, when the time came to craft a new shop in Bournemouth it was an opportunity to start with a blank canvas.
Simon is at the helm of the dealer’s innovative Dorset site, which bases its design on the hugely successful Apple retail model.
Having helped run the business since stepping across from mobility manufacturing into retail, Simon is helping to guide Lifestyle & Mobility into a new era of store-design, which is geared up to propelling the company forward.
In fact, the new store is a precursor to the dealer’s expansion in the south as it sets its sites on neighbouring Poole, and Simon is responsible for ensuring the new experiment is a success before it is rolled out across other branches.
Describing the new look, he explains: “We’ve got an open front and ensured we have daylight lighting. It’s a very relaxed atmosphere for customers. When taking inspiration from other retailers, it was very similar to looking at Apple really. But not being minimalistic, we’ve gone for a very bright, modern look — spacious but with lots of products.”
