Designing for the future is a concept that most mobility firms will be familiar with. Elaine Hollerhead is striving to take that idea to the next level through her company, DESIGNATE — an inclusive design service which combines occupational therapy with interior design.
Throughout her career as a senior OT in the NHS, Elaine has worked alongside GPs, hospital consultants, architects and surveyors, equipping her with the skills and knowledge to impart advice on cutting-edge inclusive design projects.
Working in both the residential and domestic sector, Elaine is passionate in her belief that people of all ages and abilities should be able to live in environments that enable them to thrive physically, mentally and socially.
Through her clinical knowledge and eye for design, Elaine is pushing the boundaries in inclusive design around the home, and many in the industry are learning from her work.
The need for mobility dealers, suppliers and designers to work ever-closer and fluidly together is becoming more apparent as solutions need to interact and co-exist to achieve the best results.
In working with relevant companies on projects, Elaine is helping to drive this transition and striving to create functional, safe, colourful, practical spaces that reflect 21st century living.
