Platinum Stairlifts has announced a £6 million plan to relocate and expand its UK manufacturing facility to meet growing global demand.
The Yorkshire-based business will consolidate its existing sites to open a new custom-built facility at Foundary Park, in the centre of Keighley, in early 2022.
The move, which marks Platinum Stairlifts’ 25th anniversary, is expected to more than double its production efforts, improve partner experience and raise the brand profile.
Sales Director, Mark McNulty, said: ‘The stairlift marketplace is thriving and the demand for our products continues to increase across the globe.
“The company is now at a point where the scope for expansion is significant and there will be an investment of over £6 million in the new changes, meaning we can continue to improve our service to partners and meet the demand for our products. It means we are ready to increase our brand profile and strengthen our proposition with the partner network to realise that potential.’
Chief Financial Officer, Marcus Green, commented: “With brand new machinery, many process efficiencies, ability to hold further stocks and the capacity to add hours on the production line, we will be able to more than double our output, improve turnaround times for customers and thus profitability for the group.
“We are therefore working on an extensive recruitment drive, with the help of local agencies and colleges to recruit enthusiastic trainees and professionals who are looking for a stable, skilled careers in the local area. This is a fantastic opportunity and we are delighted to get the development underway.”
Founded in 1996 in Keighley, West Yorkshire, Platinum Stairlifts now employs over 200 colleagues and ships over 10,000 stairlifts to a global network of partners each year.
