Permobil has launched an upgraded version of its F5 Corpus powerchair that offers users a new way of standing.
Debuted at the Naidex show last week, the F5 Corpus VS (vertical stander) includes all the power seat functions of the F5 Corpus in addition to standing and drivability while standing.
The VS version is designed to offer an innovative new way of standing, allowing the user to choose from two positions – sit-to-stand or lay-to-stand.
The standing position can provide users with better blood circulation, easier breathing, improved bladder function, stronger bones and reduced pressure.
In addition to physiological benefits, a standing powerchair also means users can benefit from improved social interaction and mental well-being.
It features fully independent suspension and automatic and self-adjusting support wheels to provide comfort and stability, especially when users drive in the standing position indoors or outdoors.
A range of alternative driving controls for non-joystick drivers is available as well as separate controls for carers.
For transport purposes, the upper part of the backrest can be removed to reduce the overall size of the powerchair.
The Corpus seating system is a core part of Permobil’s offering and is designed to effectively support the clinical, functional and lifestyle needs of active users.
