Oxfordshire-based dealership Recare has supplied the first new Juvo powerchair in the UK.
Ottobock’s new powerchair was launched recently and is designed to offer high levels of reliability and safety.
A number of major dealers have already taken stock of the new range, which is designed to give people with varying medical conditions and specific needs the opportunity to have their chair well-tailored to them.
Having the choice of two options; front or rear wheel drive, the new Juvo chair aims to give its owner maximum independence.
Commenting on the launch of the chair when it was launched, said Simon Tempest, head of mobility solutions at Ottobock, said that due to its versatility, the most common type of drive is the rear wheel option.
“As this offers a variety of possibilities in relation to speed combined with its attractive, well thought out design, the Juvo allows for optimum power distribution over the ground. The front wheel drive however, provides great performance when climbing which is extremely beneficial when encountering obstacles like hills and curbs,” he said.
Other features of the product include good directional stability, especially when travelling at speed, a wide range of possibilities to adapt the seating position and a relatively small turning circle. All of these factors, for ensuring safety and mobility for the people using the Juvo, are available on both the B5 or B6 models.
