New Care & Independence Glove slings ‘will set new industry standards’

Moving and handling equipment manufacturer and supplier Care & Independence has updated its Glove range of slings.

Now available are the new Glove Diamond Deluxe and Glove Diamond Deluxe Plus slings.

After first showcasing the prototype at the OT Show in 2019, Care & Independence set to work finessing the products.

Extensive testing and trialing as well as customer and occupational therapist feedback have resulted in the two new models.

The company said the new designs reduce pressure on the sacrum and coccyx when hoisted and provide increased toileting access.

James Bennett, Care & Independence’s sales and marketing director, said: “When we launched the first Glove sling over fifteen years ago it was met with huge acclaim from clinicians and users alike within the patient moving and handling space – so much so that others could only flatter us
by imitating what we created and following where we led.

“From the market feedback we’ve received and pressure mapping evidence from third party testing now completed, we firmly believe that the Glove Diamond Deluxe and Glove Diamond Deluxe Plus will set new industry standards for years to come.”

He added: “We have spent the past 18 months painstakingly researching, testing and evolving the sling design into what we now firmly believe is the pinnacle of contemporary sling innovation – and for the primary benefit of those that need it most.

“The passion of everyone involved in this project to produce the Glove Diamond slings has been driven by a real belief in working for the greater good of end users.”
