Danish mobility manufacturer Qimova has launched a new bariatric powerchair which it plans to sell through a network of UK distributors.
Its bariatric indoor and outdoor powerchair is designed to complement Qimova’s current range of modular-comfort and posture management manual and powered wheelchairs.
Following on from Qimova’s other products, including paediatric and other bariatric equipment, the new powerchair comes with high density foam and a memory foam topper for added comfort and support.
Seat sizes range from 62cm to 82cm and larger sizes are available upon request or assessment. The chair has a tilt-in-space angle of 45 degrees and features 165 degrees reclining back rest and lumbar support.
The current maximum weight capacity for the bariatric chair is from 230kg up to 300kg.
Qimova has added a range of control options and accessories to complement the chair and bespoke alterations for all clients’ specific requirements.
The multiple adjustments to the powered tilt and recline seating and powered articulating leg rests means that the client can alter and adjust their position throughout the day.
These adjustments allow them to spend as many hours as required in the chair to alleviate the need for constant manual handling from bed to chair.
