Motability unveils its large fleet Dealer of the Year

Ability Matters Group, a major supplier to the NHS and a mobility retailer, has been named as one of the top scooter and powerchair dealerships in the country for customer service on the Motability Scheme.

Rated with a customer service score of over 9.8 out of 10, the group won large fleet Dealer of the Year at the annual Motability awards.

The award for large fleet Dealer of the Year recognises premier service to customers on the Motability Scheme, and is based on direct customer feedback.

Lyndon Reeks, commercial manager at Ability Matters Group, praised the company’s teams at its Motability dealerships in Belfast, Elland, Harrow, Manchester and Oxford.

“[They] work tirelessly to ensure our customers are safely mobile, without interruption, every day of the year, and we’re thrilled to be recognised for it. With 15,000 scooter and powered wheelchair customers throughout the UK, the Motability Scheme offers a simple leasing package to people with disabilities.

Anyone who receives the Enhanced Rate of the Mobility Component of Personal Independence Payment, the Higher Rate Mobility Component of the Disability Living Allowance, War Pensioners’ Mobility Supplement or Armed Forces Independence Payment can exchange their weekly payment to lease a new scooter or powered wheelchair through the Motability Scheme.

Since its foundation in 1989, the group has established major healthcare contracts for orthotic, prosthetic, postural and mobility services in the UK and Ireland.

Ability Matters Group has grown to employ over 550 staff across the UK and Europe, and is comprised of several different businesses, including a substantial retail arm providing mobility equipment and services.
