Motability has provided an update for customers on the coronavirus crisis in the form of FAQs.
The Scheme has continued to provide regular updates for its customers throughout the crisis.
Having again updated its frequently asked customer questions this week, Motability said: “Following the latest Government announcements, COVID-19 restrictions now differ greatly across the UK at both a national and regional level. Please be reassured that despite the ongoing restrictions, the Scheme remains open to support new and existing customers.
“Where national or regional restrictions allow for non-essential retail, most dealership
showrooms are open. Rest assured that all dealers are operating in a COVID-19 safe environment, with social distancing measures in place.
“Where regulations mean dealership showrooms have had to close temporarily, it may still be possible for car handovers to go ahead and new applications to be placed at these dealerships, subject to local restrictions and the ability of the dealership to safely operate within these restrictions.
“Service departments in all areas can remain open for essential maintenance and repairs, but you must make an appointment with the dealership before you attend.”
Customers are advised to contact dealerships directly if they are due to visit and consult the
Government’s website to find out the COVID restrictions in their local area.
New restrictions have been placed on retailers after large parts of the country went into Tier 4 on Sunday.
