Motability Operations will open a new Scottish HQ in 2020 as the mobility equipment hire initiative increases its capacity.
The company runs the hire scheme on behalf of the Motability charity and will create around 80 new jobs when it opens an office in Edinburgh.
The office will operate as a contact centre for customers to get in touch with the scheme, which needs to expand its capacity as the number of disabled people it serves increases.
Motability has its head office in London and another contact centre in Bristol. Between the two offices the group has more than 1,000 employees.
The scheme is currently responsible for leasing specialist equipment and vehicles out to 625,000 people in the UK, who are able to use their weekly disability benefits to lease mobility devices.
Motability Operations’ head of customer service, Lisa Witherington, said: “We have taken our time to identify the location of our new site and eventually chose Edinburgh because we know we will be able to find the high-quality employees we need.
“Many major brands have call centre operations in Scotland, which means there are plenty of people with relevant talent and experience.
“Our call handlers are consistently praised for their professionalism by clients and our monitoring shows a continuously high level of satisfaction – we only want the best and are sure Edinburgh will deliver.
“Customers are also choosing to communicate with us through online routes, so we will be recruiting candidates who are comfortable using digital channels.”
