Mobility store appeals for information after burglar rides off with £10K scooter

The owners of mobility shop based in Leicester are appealing for information after a burglar escaped with a scooter worth over £10,000.

CCTV footage shows a man kicking his way into Modern Mobility at Fosse Park Shopping Centre before driving out of the store on a cabin car mobility scooter.

Nick, Partridge, store manager of Modern Mobility Leicester said: “Somebody has now been left without a mobility vehicle because of this cowardly act. The Cabin Car is the most expensive item in the shop, somebody clearly knew what they were looking for.”

Modern Mobility is offering a reward for information that leads to the cabin care scooter being returned. The burglary took place on March 13 at 8.15pm.

The intruder attempted to picklock the door without success before kicking the shop’s door down and entering.

Twenty seconds later, the burglar can be seen driving out of the store on the scooter.

Leicestershire Police said an investigation was underway.
