Phil Rice, a respected veteran in the mobility solution industry and member of the board of the British Healthcare Trades Association, has launched Anglian Lifts.
This new venture is set to benefit from his decades of experience in the industry, plus the expertise of the entire team from his previous stairlift installation company, where he was managing director.
The new business provides stairlifts and other mobility equipment to the East Anglian region.
Start-up costs have been provided by an outside investor, and Rice and his financial partner have ambitious plans to grow organically by hiring more engineers, as well as via strategic acquisitions of similar and complementary businesses.
Rice (pictured centre) commented: “The stairlift market is opaque and customer service is highly variable. Customers deserve better. Anglian Lifts will set a new benchmark in customer service and transparency. We will be successful by ‘doing it right’. This means doing it right for our customers first and foremost – providing the optimum solution at competitive prices together with great service; And doing it right for our stakeholders by providing growth opportunities to our employees and supporting the local community.”
Anglian Lifts works with a network of trusted companies that share the same ethos. These are hand-picked to bring complementary capabilities and allow them all to cover a wider region.
In addition, Rice has recently introduced a partnership programme specifically for companies without their own stairlift installation and servicing capabilities, such as mobility shops. These companies will share in Anglian Lifts’ success by referring customers and receiving remuneration whilst maintaining the relationship of each customer.
Rice said: “We partner with companies which share our ambition and want to do it right. As we grow, so will our partners.”
Rice has held several senior positions in the access and mobility market including as managing director at Meditek Stairlifts where he rose through the ranks from an apprentice engineer. More recently, he was managing director at another local stairlift installation company.
