Mobility scooter rider dies after car collision

A 64-year-old woman who was involved in a collision with a car while on her mobility scooter in Beccles, Norfolk, has died.

The woman suffered a broken hip, cracked vertebrae and cracked ribs in the incident and was rushed to the James Paget Hospital for treatment, according to the Eastern Daily Press.

The incident occurred at around October 2 on Gosford Road, Beccles, and involved a Citroen Xsara Picasso.

After being released from the Gorleston hospital in November, she was readmitted in December after becoming unwell at home and later died the same day.

Suffolk Police said its enquiries are ongoing and that it was not possible yet to determine if death comes as a direct result of the collision.
