Mobility Scheme to refund to disabled motorists following fall in insurance claims

Mobility Operations will be sending a £50 refund to users of its Mobility Scheme following a reduction in insurance claims.

The organisation was able to share savings from a lower level of insurance claims by sending the money to all customers during the first lockdown.

And following a similar reduction in claims, Mobility Operations will be refunding disabled motorists who joined the scheme before January 4, 2021.

A company spokesperson told AMP: “During the challenging times we’ve all experienced over the past year, we have continued to work hard to ensure that our customers remain mobile and that we provide them with our on-going support.

“After the first lockdown, in spring 2020, due to the decrease in insurance claims we were able to share those savings by sending £50 to all our customers. With further lockdowns since, we are pleased to be able to do the same again, and send another £50 insurance-based refund to customers.”

Customers can set up a Motability Scheme online account and request the payment by bank transfer, which will be paid from June 15, 2021. Customers without an online account will automatically receive a cheque.
