A mobility dealership in Somerset whose name is similar to one that was used by a now defunct retailer has stressed that there is absolutely no connection between the two businesses.
Care Plus Mobility is keen to avoid any confusion between its business and that of Care & Mobility, which was closed recently.
Care Plus Mobility, which has three branches, said it had been receiving phone calls from customers asking if the business was closing down after it was confirmed that one of Simplyhealth’s retail brands was to be closed instead of sold.
Managing director of Care Plus Mobility, Stacey Showering, said that originally the business did have the name of Care & Mobility, and had to change it slightly to Care Plus Mobility after a dispute with Simplyhealth’s Care & Mobility over having a clash in trading names.
She said: “Care Plus Mobility are trading as normal and we are not to be confused with the company Care & Mobility that are recently closing their branches.”
Care & Mobility’s closure followed sister brand The Unlimited Company’s exit from the market in October.
Care Plus Mobility provides mobility aids in Somerset and the South West. It has facilities for on-site repairs in Bath, Swindon, Bristol and across Somerset.
