TGA in buoyant mood ahead of big scooter selling season

Mobility scooter supplier TGA expects Naidex to deliver a nice boost in business if the first day-and-a-half of the show are anything to go by.

Its stand was packed on the first day of the show as key dealers and users came to check out the new Maximo Plus, Minimo Plus 4, Zest, Zest Plus (with a larger battery) and iBex models.

And managing director Daniel Stone told Access & Mobility Professional this morning that the company’s booth has been inundated with dealers.

“We have got four members of our trade team here and they were busy all day – we saw a good number of dealers,” he said. “We’ve got a lot of new products here and this is the right time of the year for a show – it is before the season really begins, so it is a great time to try and get new, good-looking product on dealers’ floors before the season kicks off.”

TGA has launched no fewer than five new scooters at Naidex, each encompassing the very latest assistive technology and engineering to deliver improved levels of comfort, versatility, reliability and safety.

Some of the products feature components taken from the motorcycle industry, while the addition of benefits such as USB ports and easy-touch buttons are designed to provide users with enhanced functionality.

“What we are trying to do is offer products that have excellent quality and a nice finish,” Mr Stone explained. “The market is getting a little bit more sophisticated all the time – in real terms it is quite a young market place but it is moving on at a pace and for us the plan is just about trying to keep it moving on faster than anybody else.”

Mr Stone said he was pleased with the volume of users and dealers that had been onto the stand since the exhibition opened yesterday.

“We didn’t know how successful the new owners and promoters of the show would be at getting people through the door. But I think they have worked pretty hard and my personal feeling is they have done a pretty good job. The show has been great for us. There seems to be a thought within the industry that trade should be completely separate to retail, but for me it is a really good balance of trade and retail.”

Exclusive show offers and added value deals are available to dealers along with the unmissable opportunity to drive all the new scooters around the TGA Test Track.

TGA can be found on stand A59.
