Mobility equipment hire specialist WheelFreedom has become a supplier for the new Cabin Car, the ultimate mobility vehicle for those transitioning from a car.

Cabin Car is fully enclosed from the elements and boasts luxury car-like features such as a heater, windscreen wiper and reversing camera to give users a driving experience closer to that of a car than a traditional mobility scooter

The vehicle, which is custom built by UK manufacturer Scooterpac, is about three times the price of a traditional 8mph scooter, but is pitched at those who have just given up their car, and who thus may be in the position to afford it as a result.

The firm says it is the closest driving experience you can get to a car, with solid bodywork, a heater/fan, windscreen wiper and rear-view mirror with parking camera to help manoeuvre.

Twin USB sockets mean a SatNav or phone can be charged, while remote locking keeps the vehicle secure.

Wheelfreedom was formed 10 years ago after the owners experienced the problems of hiring a quality wheelchair first hand.

They noticed that mobility hire tended to be offered as a small part of a business, therefore resulting in very high prices, poor customer service, old stock, waiting lists and hirers often being encouraged to purchase equipment rather than being offered a sensible hire option.

They set out to change that experience and provide a reliable, easy to use service at a sensible price.

The company now offers a range of scooters and powerchairs for purchase, hire and on Motability across London and the South East.
