Bosses of Mobility Markets Ltd met earlier this month where it was decided that liquidators would be appointed to the business and that it would be voluntarily wound-up.
According to a public record notice, it was decided that the Motability-accredited dealer, which sold scooters, wheelchairs and stairlifts, could not continue to trade and that it was advisable to wind-up.
The mobility retailer’s site, which was branded as the Mobility Centre, is based just outside Redruth, Cornwall, next to a petrol filling station on a main road.
According to an online directory, Mobility Markets offered discount prices to customers by purchasing in bulk from manufacturers.
The firm offered in-house servicing and repairs and next day delivery on its mobility scooters.
Mobility Markets served a relatively rural area in the South West and the closest equipment dealers are around five miles away.
AMP has contacted Mobility Markets Ltd and liquidator, Purnells. The company’s website is offline.
