A Skegness-based mobility retailer has just won its latest Twitter award, following on from its finalist position as Independent Retailer of the Year in East Lindsey.

People First Mobility, headed by Karen Sheppard, who was Skegness Business Person of the Year 2016, received the #smartsocial award from @SmartSocialUK, run by @Marketme, which has 60,000 followers.

Karen believes that aside from pride and satisfaction, winning awards builds trust among its customers and suppliers.

“It keeps us at the top and I think customers and suppliers relate to the awards and it helps us to grow as a business, they also give people confidence to buy from us. It gives suppliers confidence that we are fully committed to offering the best products and the best customer experience,” she commented.

“Winning the awards and becoming finalists shows that we are committed to enhancing the customers experience and putting them first. Customer care and after care is an essential part of retail on the high street especially with a lot of internet sales being more and more.”

Aside from this month’s accolades, People First Mobility has already won the #queenoff and #twittersisters awards on Twitter and another, #sbs, run by Twitter.

The #sbs (small business Sunday) award saw Karen meet with Theo Paphitis, who runs the award. Every year she now attends a networking event run by the businessman where he delivers a talk.

This year the retailer also gained the Community Lincs Age Friendly Award and the #WOW award – a Jacqueline Gold CBE award – championing working women.
