MMS Medical has assumed overall responsibility for the assessment, sales, distribution and aftercare of the Rota brand of wheelchairs in Ireland.
Having taken on the duties from July 1, the move follows the retirement of dealer principles David and Joan Diamond of Delta Orthopaedic.
A news release detailed how both MMS Medical and Delta Orthopaedic have combined experience of over 60 years in the industry and MMS Medical have been supplying the Rota chairs in Ireland for several years.
It confirmed the move would see a seamless transition and there will be no disruption to production, availability or supply of the product.
The MMS Medical Product Specialists will carry out assessments and provide any information on the Rota product range and will be available for clinic support. All orders will be processed via MMS Medical as before and the MMS service and engineering team will provide the necessary aftercare, parts and service for the product going forward to customers and suppliers.
Commenting on the update, managing director Gearoid O’Herlihy said: “It was a straightforward decision for MMS Medical in partnership with Delta Orthopaedic to take over the full sales, distribution and aftercare of the Rota brand in Ireland.
“This effectively is what we have been doing for the past couple of years so this is an uncomplicated solution. We are delighted to continue to support an excellent custom-built Irish product and add it to our brand portfolio. We wish David and Joan a happy retirement and thank them for their cooperation and support for our business over the years.”
The firm’s senior product specialist, Ian Mold, will be responsible for the Rota Brand in Ireland.
He added: “I look forward to continuing to bring this wonderful Irish made product to our clients. I have had great feedback following the announcement so I know it’s a positive move for all.”
