Industry dealer Millercare was honoured to handle a request at its Blackpool branch to hire out a mobility scooter for a customer who was invited to the Royal Wedding on Saturday.
The company wrote: “Our Blackpool branch received an enquiry about hiring a scooter for a special occasion.
“The customer had been invited to the Royal Wedding after being nominated for her community and charity work.
“A fine day was had by her and her husband in the glorious Windsor sunshine.”
There had initially been concerns voiced by some elderly local residents in Windsor who feared the Royal Wedding crowds would make navigating the town and amenities difficult for people with limited mobility.
Nevertheless, people of all ages and abilities flocked to the town and a number of invited guests were disabled or from disability organisations.
Two members of The Warrington Disability Partnership, whose retail arm is the Disability Trading Company, were invited to the Royal Wedding.
Dave and Janis Williams, represented the organisation after being nominated by Dave Thompson who runs the group and is deputy lord lieutenant of Cheshire.
