Middletons has begun to implement its ambitious store opening programme in the UK after earmarking a number of locations and officially opening an outlet in Shrewsbury this month.
The equipment dealer, which has adopted a fresh approach to mobility retail with its modern, experiential stores, revealed in April its intentions to launch 22 new shops after securing £4m investment.
The company took its first steps in its retail rollout by opening a store in Swansea in May and it officially launched its store in Shrewsbury on 15 September.
The grand opening was attended by the Mayor of Shrewsbury, Salopian Brass, and the Telford Stags Walking Football Club.
Wayne Greet, regional sales manager, Verity Kick, head of customer engagement and a number of showroom staff were at the ribbon cutting ceremony.
Greet said: “We’re delighted to have opened in Shrewsbury and we’d like to thank the local community for giving us such a warm welcome. Our door is always open and we love sitting down with our customers for a cup of tea and a friendly chat.
“For those who can’t get to the store, our free, door-to-store taxi service is now up and running too, so everyone can come and see what we have to offer.”
The next locations on Middletons’ list are Radyr (Cardiff), Ross-on-Wye, Oxford and Bath.
Each of its showrooms are designed to give the customer a pleasant shopping environment and the floorplans are based more on a furniture retailer rather than that of a traditional mobility dealer.
