Medstrom, an independent UK manufacturer of hospital beds, is set to host a webinar on medical device innovation in the NHS.
The event, to take place on May 11, will provide advice on what healthcare decision makers need to know about current and future medical device innovation.
Speakers will include Dr Rebecca Hanlin, innovation and development consultant and director, who will discuss the importance of thinking in terms of an ‘innovation system’, stressing the importance of having the right skills and capabilities as well as collaboration and coordination mechanisms.
Matthew Campbell-Hill from the Institute of Clinical Sciences at the University of Birmingham will discuss what a medical device is and what decision makers need to consider and who to consult with before purchasing.
Meanwhile, Dr Peter Worsley, psychotherapist and associate professor at Southampton University, will focus on clinical evidence supporting medical devices. He’ll talk about the level of evidence healthcare professionals should seek to support innovation and how to scrutinise the evidence they are presented with.
