Medequip first as Hospital-based retail store gets set to open its doors


Medequip is set to open its first Hospital-based retail store.

The site, located at Kings Treatment Centre, Royal Hospital Derby, will open its doors on January 13.

The company confirmed that it will stock a selection of riser-recliner chairs, rollators, overbed tables, shower chairs and perching stools among other living aids.

In an announcement made on Twitter, Medequip was keen to outline how products can also be ordered through its AMP award-winning Manage at Home retail website.

This week, AMP exclusively reported on Medequip’s plans to continue with its diversification into 2020.

It started the process in 2019 with securing more contract tenders as well as confirming the acquisition of a telecare provider.

CEO James Ibbotson, told AMP: “2019 has been a year of investment for Medequip, focused on further developing our skills and facilities to enable the company to diversify into new areas.”

Adding: “We have already made significant inroads into the provision of telecare and wheelchair services, with the platforms established and ready to continue this programme of diversification into 2020.”
