Sheridan Lifts’ management team has returned from a trip to Dubai where it met with key suppliers and sussed the ground ahead of a new business venture to establish a base in the Emirates.
The company revealed in April that it would be expanding its business to the United Arab Emirates and operating under the name of Sheridan Elevators.
On his return to Manchester, managing director Tony Sheridan said that the trip had been productive and the team of four directors had achieved in-depth discussions with suppliers.
“We were able to visit sites, inspecting software and merchandise and see some of the equipment and lift shafts first hand,” he said.
“We actually brought home an awful lot more than we thought we would in terms of knowledge and ideas, especially in relation to planning and projects, and I think this trip sets us up perfectly for a return visit where we can progress this project further down the line.”
Aside from meeting suppliers, the purpose of the trip was to lay the groundwork for the company and established roots within the community so Sheridan Elevators can begin operating smoothly.
The firm’s Dubai operation will include new lift installations, repairs, modernisations and lift maintenance contracts.
Sheridan added: “This new branch of our family run company will draw on the same business model that has brought us such continued success at home, and be grounded by our industry expertise and experience”
“Whilst remaining fully focused on our core UK business we are naturally very excited for this new chapter in our history to begin.”
Sheridan Lifts’ business in the UK will remain unaffected by its new Dubai arm, the company said.
