Man on mobility scooter stuck in mud rescued by firefighters

Firefighters have rescued a man who was stuck in mud on a mobility scooter in woodland.

A fire crew was called to the scene in Exeter off Topsham Road following reports the man had fallen.

A Devon Live report detailed how on arrival at the woods, the firefighters confirmed that he had not fallen and rescued him from the mud.

A spokesman for Devon & Somerset Fire and Rescue Service said: “A crew from Danes Castle were mobilised following a call from a gentleman who had got stuck in the mud, in his mobility scooter, in some woodland near to Ludwell Valley Park.

“At first it was thought the gentleman had fallen but once on scene the crew confirmed he had not. He was rescued unharmed, shortly after they arrived on scene.”
