Independent Mobility has marked its 15th year trading by overhauling its online brand image to better communicate its message to its customer base.

The retailer, based on York Road in Leeds, has introduced a “vibrant” new look to its website designed to portray its “modern and forward-thinking approach” to the industry.

The firm has adopted bright colours and added a strapline – ‘passionate about changing lives’ – to “communicate its commitment to helping to improve the lives of adults and children with the provision of specialist healthcare equipment”.

Independence Mobility was founded in 2004 and initially sold entry-level wheelchairs, scooters and beds directly to end-users with basic needs.

The firm now supplies an extensive range of products that cater for a wide range of basic and complex needs.

The team still supports end-users directly but now also has close links with occupational therapists, physiotherapists and other healthcare professionals in the NHS, as well as case management companies across the region.

Independent Mobility’s founder and director, Anthony Mitchell, said: “It’s phenomenal to think back to where we started from and where we are today.

“We’re proud of how we’ve grown and developed and our 15th birthday seemed like the perfect time to celebrate that with a new look and a fresh new brand.

“We’re privileged to have an amazing team who work with us and have helped us become what we are today.

“We all absolutely love what we do…helping to change a child’s or adult’s life for the better.”
