Jenx, a manufacturer of postural support for children, has announced that Paces, a specialist school for conductive education, is its charity of the year 2021.
The company will be working closely with the charity across fundraising activities and events for the next 12 months, and its staff will also have the opportunity to personally support children with special needs at Paces School in Sheffield through volunteering activities and initiatives.
Funds raised by the partnership will contribute to the £3.5m needed by Paces for its new state-of-the-art home, a move which would enable the charity to support up to three times as many families.
Paces specialises in supporting children and adults living with neurological conditions which affect their physical and learning ability, such as cerebral palsy and other motor disorders.
The partnership announcement follows a donation by Jiraffe – Jenx’s UK distribution arm – of a specialist Rifton Tricycle to 10-year-old Sheffield fundraiser ‘Captain’ Tobias Weller, who was recently crowned Young Unsung Hero at BBC Sports Personality of the Year 2020.
