IWA CEO calls on employers to “take action” now on mobility issues

The CEO of the Irish Wheelchair Association has called on employers to take action on mobility issues.

Speaking at the IWA’s WorkAbility Summit 2019, Rosemary Keogh stressed how the importance was on acting now rather than waiting years to solve any issues.

In a speech to attendees, she said: “I mentioned it earlier on, if you are an employer that’s part of the trade group, you have power in that so please do everything that you can within your own organisations. And please look out for things as well, no one is quite right.”

She added: “We are all living longer, everyone one of us at some point in this room, as we get older, is probably going to have some type of mobility issue. There’s no point in waiting until we are 70 or 80 or 90 to try and figure out the solutions to do that. Today is the day to take action.”

The event took place on September 30 at Croke Park in Dublin.
