Invacare unveils ‘superior’ follow up to active wheelchair backrest

Mobility manufacturer Invacare has unveiled a new and improved version of the Matrx wheelchair backrest, which marks an expansion of the supplier’s seating and positioning product range.

Developed following consumer research, the Matrx MX2 lightweight backrest is designed to offer superior support and stability for wheelchair users living active lifestyles.

The backrest delivers essential postural support where it is required and it places design, functionality and easy set-up hardware at its core.

Using the same hardware design as the Matrx Mini back, it provides a product with familiarity and ease of set-up offering superior comfort compared with the previous MX1 model.

The back‐shell features cut outs which aim to further enhance its lightweight design and offers breathability as well as featuring vertical slots to allow easy height adjustments while the individual is seated.

Matrx MX2 hardware offers a wider choice of heights from 150mm to 410mm and has stepless angle adjustments to aid a good fit.

The carbon fibre plate with ‘fixed mount’ hardware offers maximum shock absorption and weighs just 17.6kg.

Matrx MX2 can be fitted to most makes of manual wheelchairs and is now available in more sizes compared to its predecessor providing more choice to a wider range of clients.

Its carbon fibre shell adds durability and rigidity making it one of the lightest on the market, and suitable for individuals looking for a consistently performing product for everyday active lifestyles.
