Invacare is to run an educational programme aimed at intermediate level healthcare professionals which will be hosted in June 2019 at venues in Nottingham and Swindon.
The Think Clinical Seating (TCS) programme will discuss best practice guidelines on the ins and outs of back supports, management of skin integrity and different approaches and conclusions from clinical evaluations.
The even will offer CPD accreditation and will be presented by Sharon Sutherland‐Pratt, the owner of Seating Solutions LLC, Ezequiel F. Silva, OT and group product manager at Invacare EMEA and Carlos Kramer, international educator at Vicair.
The sessions will aim to enable delegates to list the goals of seating and mobility as they relate to the seat cushion and back support and explain the skin risk and postural analysis steps necessary in hands‐on evaluations.
It will also allow delegates to discuss how assessment findings translate into seat cushion and back support product parameters and ask four objective questions related to skin integrity and positioning properties of wheelchair seat cushions and back supports using a simple checklist for each.
These events include an exhibition of Invacare and Vicair Seating products as well as offering networking opportunities for professionals in the field of seating and positioning.
