Invacare has added a new range of shower chair commodes to its portfolio based on the established Ocean range.
The Ocean Ergo line consists of a number of new modular shower chair commodes that have been designed to enhance user independence, safety and comfort.
The Ocean Ergo family offers personal care solutions to suit a wide range of physical conditions and personal care needs.
A new contoured seat plate has been developed based on the imprints that people leave behind when seated has been incorporated into the new design.
This new feature helps to encourage a more upright and stable seating position to promote user independence and enhance overall comfort.
Additionally, a 5° rearward seat angle and transfer supports at the front of the seat plate allows the user to position themselves into a comfortable and effective position for independent toileting.
The modular design of the Ocean Ergo family means that the chairs can be adapted to suit a wide range of user needs by making some simple adjustments to the armrest, seat height, leg rests and footplates or by adding a range of easy to fit, off-the shelf accessories.
Lisa Cook, marketing manager for lifestyle products at Invacare, said the chair has been designed in conjunction with therapists and carers, as well as disabled and elderly people.
“Our aim, as always, is to bring enhanced independence, safety and dignity to elderly and disabled people as well as provide a safe working environment for families and carers.”
