A new website is set to launch during Naidex next week which is designed to be a marketplace for mobility retailers and can be used as a sales channel for dealers to reach end-users.
Mysokoni.co.uk hopes to be the ‘go-to’ place for customers looking for accessibility products and told AMP it will be “the first dedicated marketplace” for the sector.
It will work by gathering multiple mobility retailers in one place who can sell their products via the e-commerce channel, aiming to make shopping online easier and more focused for end-users.
The website’s founder and chief executive, Ray Vernon, previously worked with tech company, Cisco Systems, and has designed the online space specifically to meet customers’ specialist needs.
The design of the site aims to make online shopping more accessible for customers and is set up to provide “excellence and equality”, according to its founder.
Vernon explained that the website was designed “using W3C guidelines as well as paying particular attention to usability”.
The stated aim of Mysokoni is “to make the site easy to use for shoppers using assistive technologies” in order to benefit and include everyone.
Mysokoni hopes its layout will reflect Vernon’s efforts to understand the different needs of customers and it aims to be easy to follow, view, find products and purchase.
The company said: “We are heartened by such a dedicated space for the assisted living sector which we are sure will create a better online experience for many customers.”
Speaking with AMP, Vernon said that he would like to build “an incredible retail experience for people looking to purchase accessibility products”.
He aims to: “continually improve the experience of all shoppers, regardless of their physical, mental or sensory challenges; to bring together sellers/vendors and customers in an environment of trust, honesty and respect; and to become the de facto standard for the majority of accessibility products.”
